Vacuum cleaner recommendations

I love my vacuum cleaner. Since 1991, it has served me well and I have often worked it very hard.

But it may be time to replace it.

I have carpeted steps and also some wooden floors.

I also frequently vacuum the car interior and trunk.

What canister vacuum cleaner can you recommend?
